Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had an amazing weekend! I enjoyed an amazing gala (be on the lookout for a blog post about that!), met some amazing women and celebrated my sister and uncle’s birthday! Ok enough of me, and let’s get down to the topic today!
Today it’s all about faith! We say we have faith, but the moment an obstacle comes our way we tend to have a legit breakdown. Notice I said we and our because I too sometimes will have a breakdown when something unexpected happens. Thankfully, I’m not as bad as I used to be; but I still have a long way to go.
Sunday morning my pastor was talking about faith and how many lack it because they’re going by what they see and not what they believe. God will give us instructions for our healing or for our dreams, but it doesn’t make sense. Instead of us having faith and believing in His instructions, our human mind will automatically try to predict the outcome. Don’t believe me? Let’s look at Naaman from the Bible real quick.
Naaman wanted to be healed from leprosy, and God instructed Elisha to tell Naaman to dip in the Jordan River seven times. Naaman had a full blown attitude because he thought Elisha would’ve just said you’re healed, and it would’ve been all over. You might ask why would he have an attitude about dipping in the Jordan River seven times? Well, the Jordan River was dirty; and in Naaman’s mind he was too good for the Jordan River. He was already considered dirty because he was a leper. I’m telling you pride will keep you away from your blessings! Let me get back on course here!
Naaman kept whining and complaining to the point where his servants spoke up and said “Listen man you either want the healing or you don’t”. With that being said, you need people around you who will speak truth whether you like it or not! Be careful of your “friends” who always agree with you even when you’re wrong! Remove them immediately! I just needed to insert that clause right there.
Let’s get back to Naaman again, Naaman swallowed his pride, and dipped in the dirty Jordan River seven times. Y’all guess what happened after the seventh dip? Naaman was cleansed and healed from the disease! He didn’t understand Elisha’s instructions, and he was quite perturbed by them; but thankfully he had wise servants who spoke sense into him!
As I close, we have to realize that faith doesn’t make sense! Some of you may be questioning God right now about starting your own business. You may have an amazing job with an amazing salary and it doesn’t make sense to leave! Well, it’s time for you to say, “ I’m not going to try to figure it out. I’m going to trust the process”.
God has given you the instructions to pursue it, and He has even placed people in your life to help you, but because your human mind is distracted by the obstacles that are in front of you you keep questioning God and yourself. Stop questioning and have faith. It doesn’t make sense but believe greater is on the other side!
Live your life and be great!
